Where do I need to “go” this Lent? 

¿A dónde necesito “ir” en esta Cuaresma? 

Second Sunday of Lent – 12 March 2017

Three verbs.  Each reading provides a verbal injunction today.  (1) Abram is told to Go and, in the going, to trust God.  And so are we.  (2) Early followers of Jesus are told to Bear the Good News and, in the bearing, to rely on God’s strength.  And so are we.  (3) Peter, James, and John, while Jesus touches them, are told Do Not Be Afraid!  And so are we. 

Where do I need to “go” this Lent? 

How will I bear, not my own good works, but the Good News of Jesus Christ in words and deeds?

What do I fear?  And how can I stay within the touch of Jesus and trust what happens next?

Segundo domingo de Cuaresma – 12 de Marzo, 2017

Tres verbos. Cada lectura nos da un mandato verbal el día de hoy. (1) Abram recibe el mandato de IR, y al ir, que confíe en Dios. Y a nosotros también. (2) Los primeros seguidores de Jesús reciben el mandato de LLEVAR LAS BUENAS NUEVAS y, al llevarlas, que confíen en la fuerza de Dios. A nosotros también nos manda lo mismo. (3) En el momento en que Jesús toca a Pedro, a Santiago y a Juan les manda ¡NO TEMAN! Y a nosotros también. 

¿A dónde necesito “ir” en esta Cuaresma? 

¿Cómo voy a "llevar", no mis propias obras buenas, sino las Buenas Nuevas de Jesucristo en palabras y hechos?

¿A qué le "temo"? ¿Y cómo puedo mantenerme cerca de Jesús y confiar en lo que sucederá después?
