This Hispanic tradition is the reenactment of Mary and Joseph in search of shelter as they prepare for the birth of Jesus.
The evening will be filled with singing by I.C., Religious Education Students. Many traditional Mexican food dishes will be available for purchase. This event will be held on Thursday, December 17. La Posada begins in front of Immaculate Conception Church at 5:30 p.m. The procession journeys through nine stations representing the nine months that Mary carried Jesus looking for shelter. Musicians will accompany Mary and Joseph singing traditional Christmas hymns as they make their way to Bethlehem. The final station where Mary and Joseph are given shelter ends in Saint Anne’s hall with the placing of the baby Jesus in the manger. For more information call Deacon Chavez at 580-1613.
